Google officially unveiled its new Google Goggles function on Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. The operation concept is based on an image made with a camera phone being sent to Google server, processed, and then the results of similar images on the Internet are displayed.
Goggles function, which debuted on Android 1.6 phones, can also recognize text, numbers and bar codes with the ability to provide data about a particular product. In addition, on the basis of image search program, it can provide information about nearby businesses, relevant to the image’s content.
There is still no information about Google Goggles function for devices running on other operating systems.

16 Jan 2010HTC released a slim and lightweight HD2 smart phone with a large multi-touch screen. The thickness of the device is only 11 mm, whereas the length is 120.5 mm, and width – 67 mm. Screen of HTC HD2 smart phone is one of the largest in its class. Screen sizes of most modern smart phones are closer to 3.5-inch iPhone 3GS screen. HD2 is running under Windows Mobile 6.5 with HTC Sense interface. The device is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, with a frequency of 1 GHz, equipped with a 5-megapixel camera and GPS-navigator. Built in memory is 448 MB. There is a slot for microSD cards. In addition to GSM and WCDMA, other cellular standards are also supported, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b / g and Bluetooth 2.1.
